About Halifax
Chef Seadon Shouse and his team welcome you to Hoboken’s premier dining destination, Halifax. Our menu features Northeastern farm and coastal cuisine, with an emphasis on local and sustainable ingredients. The vast majority of our product, if not made in-house, comes from farmers, fisherman, and artisans from Delaware north to our namesake of Halifax – the capital of Nova Scotia.
Growing up in a small fishing village in Canada’s rural Nova Scotia, Chef Shouse developed an affinity for seafood at a young age while harvesting wild mussels and fishing for mackerel in front of his house. His parents also grew their own food, and he foraged from an early age, forming the core of his professional philosophy of sustainability and making as much as possible in house.
At Halifax, Chef Shouse smokes meats and seafood in house, dry-ages steaks, makes authentic vermouth, as well as sea salt from water straight out of Montauk. Our beverage program features creative cocktails and an extensive selection of spirits, wines, and beers.
